Florida never went test-optional — and could not
Florida Board of Governors Regulation 6.002 requires first-year applicants to Florida’s public universities to submit an SAT, ACT or CLT score. This applies across the State University System. Florida State’s own admissions site states it plainly: requiring a test score for admissions consideration is not an institutional choice.
There is one narrow exception. Students completing an A.A. degree through dual enrollment by the date of high school graduation may beconsidered under Regulation 6.005 without exam scores — though at some institutions that route forfeits first-year merit scholarship eligibility. For everyone else in Florida, the question is not whether to test. It is what score.

Flexible Live Online Classes
Students attend live online classes scheduled flexibly across US Eastern evenings and weekends, with recordings available so they can revisit lessons when needed.
Assessment Before Preparation
We begin with a full-length, timed diagnostic to understand the student's starting point, then develop a focused preparation plan around their current performance and target timeline.
Strategic Superscoring
For Florida students, we structure preparation around superscoring—deciding which section deserves priority, which test dates make the most sense, and how each attempt should be used.
Closing the FAS Score Gap
When a student is 60 points below the FAS target with two administrations remaining, we focus on the specific areas that can realistically deliver those points rather than relying on broad, generic content review.
Questions Florida families ask
Do Florida public universities require the SAT?
Yes. Florida Board of Governors Regulation 6.002 requires an SAT, ACT or CLT score from firstyear applicants to all twelve State University System institutions. Florida never adopted test-optional admissions.
What SAT score do I need for Bright Futures?
1330 for Florida Academic Scholars (100% of tuition) and 1190 for Florida Medallion Scholars
(75%), for the classes of 2026 and 2027, alongside GPA, coursework and service-hour requirements.
Does Florida superscore for Bright Futures?
Yes. Your highest section scores across multiple test dates are combined into one qualifying
composite — which is why a Florida student near the line should plan more than one attempt.
Is the Bright Futures GPA the same as my transcript GPA?
No. It is weighted for AP, IB, AICE and dual enrollment and recalculated by the state
on its own scale, so it is often higher than the GPA on your transcript.
What is the difference between FAS and FMS?
140 SAT points, half a GPA point, 25 service hours — and 25% of your tuition.
Can I get into a Florida public university without a test score?
Only through a narrow route: completing an A.A. degree by high school
graduation, considered under Regulation 6.005. At some institutions that route also forfeits first-year merit scholarships.
Do you tutor students in Miami, Tampa or Orlando?
We teach entirely online, scheduled for US Eastern time. Location within Florida makes no difference to scheduling or delivery.
