AS Level and A Level Classes Online

A Level Classes Online, Built Around Where You Are Applying Subhead: AS and A Level coaching across Cambridge, Edexcel and AQA, with the predicted grades, admissions test preparation and UCAS planning that a UK application actually needs.
A Levels are a specialist qualification and they are assessed as one. Three or four subjects, examined in depth, with offers from UK universities pitched at specific grades in specific subjects — and, for the most competitive courses, an admissions test on top.
Quest For Success teaches the subjects and the pathway together. We are one of very few providers in India who coach A Level subjects and TMUA, ESAT, UCAT and LNAT, and who run undergraduate admissions counselling alongside both.

AS & A Level: How It Works

AS Level is a standalone qualification covering roughly the first half of the A Level content. A Level is the full qualification.
How they combine depends on the board and the subject:

Staged routes

Students sit their AS examinations at the end of the first year and their A2 examinations at the end of the second year, with the AS result contributing to the final A Level grade.

Linear routes

All examinations are sat at the end of the two years, with AS available only as a separate qualification.

A Level to UCAS - What actually determines the offer

This is where an A Level student’s two years are really being assessed, and where most tutoring providers stop.

Predicted grades

UK offers are made on predicted grades, which your school sets from mock performance and classwork, and which are submitted with the UCAS application in the autumn of the final year. The practical consequence is that the work determining your offer happens up to a year before your final examinations. Students who plan for that — performing in the AS or first-year assessments and the pre-UCAS mock — apply from a stronger position.

Subject requirements

Competitive courses specify subjects, not just grades. Engineering typically requires Mathematics and Physics; medicine requires Chemistry and usually Biology; economics at several leading universities requires Mathematics, and some prefer or require Further Mathematics.

Admissions tests

For many of the most competitive UK courses, the test is a separate hurdle with its own timetable, usually sat in the autumn of the application year.
Required or recommended by several universities for mathematics and economics courses.
For engineering and natural sciences at Cambridge and Imperial.
For medicine and dentistry.
For law.
For selected courses.
Test preparation has to be planned alongside A Level teaching, not stacked on top of it in October. We schedule both together, which is the practical advantage of having them under one roof.

Personal statement and applications

Our undergraduate admissions counselling team works with A Level students on course selection, the personal statement and the application timeline.

Homeschooling and private candidate support

A Levels can be taken as a private candidate in India, unlike the IB Diploma. It is a genuine route for students who have left school, are studying independently, or need a subject their school does not offer. Registration, centre availability and practical assessment arrangements all need planning several months ahead.

frequently asked questions

Yes. The content overlaps substantially; the paper structures, unit arrangements and examination series do not. We teach to your specific board and syllabus code.
AS is a standalone qualification covering approximately the first half of the content. Whether it contributes to your final A Level grade depends on your board and how your school has entered you.
Three is standard and sufficient for almost every UK offer. A fourth is worth it only for a specific reason — most commonly Further Mathematics for mathematics, engineering or economics applicants. Four subjects taken at the cost of grades in three is a poor trade.
Yes. We run subject coaching, admissions test preparation and undergraduate counselling, and we plan them as one timeline rather than three.
For tests sat in the autumn of the application year, preparation should begin in the spring or early summer before. Starting in September is late, and it collides with the personal statement.
Yes. See A Level homeschooling and private candidate support for registration, centres and practical arrangements.
Yes, in a later series. Edexcel’s January series and Cambridge’s series structure both offer routes — the right choice depends on your board and your application timeline.
UK universities accept both and make offers in both currencies. A Levels are the domestic standard and the most direct fit for subject-specific offers; the IB is broader and can be advantageous for students applying to the US and Canada as well. If the UK is the sole target and the direction is settled, A Levels are usually the simpler path. See IB classes online.
Yes — see A Level Maths tutor. It is the single most useful fourth subject for mathematics, engineering and economics applicants, and it is required or strongly preferred by several courses.
Substantial, and it catches out students who found IGCSE comfortable. The step is in depth and in independent work rather than in volume. Read IGCSE to A Level, and see IGCSE classes online if you are still in Grade 10.
