Frequently Asked Questions About the Digital SAT
How many questions are on the Digital SAT?
The Digital SAT has 98 questions in total: 54 in the Reading & Writing section and 44 in the Math section. The test is split into two sections of two adaptive modules each. Total testing time is 2 hours and 14 minutes.
Is the Digital SAT harder than the old SAT?
The Digital SAT is different, not necessarily harder. It is shorter, fully adaptive, and features shorter reading passages. However, Module 2 of each section can become significantly more difficult depending on your Module 1 performance. Consistent SAT practice with adaptive questions is the best way to prepare.
What is a good SAT score for Indian students applying to US universities?
Most competitive US universities (top 50) expect SAT scores of 1400 to 1600. Ivy League and top-10 universities typically have median SAT scores between 1500 and 1580. QFS has produced students scoring 1570–1590 who have been admitted to universities including the University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and Imperial College London.
How many times can I take the SAT?
There is no official limit to how many times you can take the SAT. College Board offers SAT test dates in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. Most Indian students take the SAT 2–3 times to achieve their best possible score. Many universities accept superscoring — taking your highest section scores across multiple attempts.
Can I use a calculator on the Digital SAT Math section?
Yes. The Digital SAT allows a calculator for the entire Math section. The built-in Desmos graphing calculator is available on screen throughout both Math modules. You may also bring an approved external calculator.
Does QFS offer SAT coaching online for students outside India?
Yes. Quest For Success offers fully online SAT coaching for students in the UAE, US, UK, Singapore, Canada, and more. All classes are live, not recorded, and are conducted through our Online Classroom Portal. Students across 20+ countries have used QFS to prepare for the Digital SAT.
What is a SAT diagnostic test and why do I need one?
A SAT diagnostic test is a full-length practice test taken before you begin coaching. QFS administers a diagnostic test to every new student to identify their starting score, accuracy patterns, and weak topic areas. This ensures your coaching plan is personalised — you spend time on the topics that will actually move your score, not topics you already know.
