SAT Exam Centres in Bangalore: Test Centre List, Registration and Test-Day Logistics

16th October, 2026 | Abhishek Malani | 14 Min Read
Introduction
Choosing an SAT centre looks like a small decision until a seat isn’t available, the admission ticket carries a different name from the ID, or the gate staff turn a student away at 8:01 a.m. For families searching for SAT exam centres in Bangalore, the logistics matter almost as much as the preparation, because a missed test means registering again and paying the full fee. This guide covers the SAT test centres in Bangalore (Bengaluru) that appear in current listings, how to choose between them, how registration and the 2026–27 deadlines work, which ID College Board accepts in India, and what happens on test day, so you can book a centre with confidence and arrive ready to test.

How Many SAT Test Centres Are in Bangalore?

There’s no single official list to rely on. College Board’s test centre search shows only the centres that have seats for the date you pick, so the list changes from one sitting to the next. Third-party lists checked on October 15, 2026 agree on a core of four school-based centres, and add a fifth that differs by source. Treat the table below as a starting point, and confirm availability in the College Board search for your date.
Centre Location Code Likely closest for students in
Bangalore International School
Geddalahalli, Hennur Bagalur Road, Kothanur
63116
North and north-east Bangalore
Bishop Cotton Boys’ School

63118
Electronic City and south-east Bangalore
Candor International School
Begur Koppa Road, Hullahalli, off Bannerghatta Road

The International School Bangalore (TISB)
NAFL Valley, Whitefield–Sarjapur Road, near Dommasandra Circle

East Bangalore (appears in some lists only)
Most SAT centres in Bangalore are international schools, so the room is usually a classroom rather than an exam hall. The “likely closest” column is our own rough guide to geography, not a College Board assignment, so use it only to shortlist.

How to Choose a Centre

  • Choose by Saturday-morning travel time, not distance: Doors open at 7:45 a.m., so what counts is how long the drive takes on the day. Bangalore’s weekend mornings are quieter than weekdays, but a long cross-city trip is still the riskiest part of the day.
  • Do a dry run: Travel to the centre at the same hour on a Saturday before the test, and note the gate, parking or drop-off point, and a backup route.
  • Pick a first choice and a backup: Seats vary by date, and the preferred centre may be full by the time you register. Know which second centre you’d accept before you open the search.
  • Don’t pick a centre for the wrong reasons: Choosing a school you know is fine if it’s convenient, but a familiar name isn’t worth an extra hour of travel.
  • Plan an overnight stay if you’re coming from outside the city: Students travelling in from other towns should consider staying near the centre the night before, rather than starting a long journey before dawn.

Registering and Booking Your Centre

Registration is done through your College Board account on My SAT. In practice, booking the centre is one step in a four-part process.
  • Set up your account with your legal name: The name must match your ID exactly. A nickname on the ticket and a full name on the ID is enough to be refused entry.
  • Pick the date, then search for centres: The search shows centres with seats for that date. Choose one, add your photo, and pay.
  • Download Bluebook and complete exam setup: Do this in the five days before the test. Bluebook confirms your device meets the requirements and generates your admission ticket.
  • Check your ticket: It shows your centre, address and arrival time. Arrival times can differ from the standard schedule, so the ticket is the final word.
Waitlist, which College Board launched in 2026, is currently limited to students in the U.S. and U.S. territories, and there’s no announced timeline for international launch. In Bangalore, a full centre means choosing another centre, another city or another date. Our guide to SAT preparation with board exams explains which sittings usually suit which curriculum, and it’s worth settling the date before you search for a centre.

2026-27 Deadlines and Fees

The table below sets out the remaining 2026-27 SAT dates and their deadlines. Deadlines expire at 11:59 p.m. U.S. Eastern time, which falls on the following morning in India, so aim to finish at least a day early rather than relying on the exact cut-off.

October 27, 2026

May 25, 2027
As of October 15, 2026, the regular deadline for the November 7 sitting is eight days away, and late registration remains open until October 27 for an extra fee. College Board lists these fees for students testing outside the U.S., in U.S. dollars.
Item Fee
SAT registration, international
$68 plus a 43internationalfee(111 in total)
Late registration
$38
Change test centre only
$34 (changing the date means cancelling and registering again)
Cancellation by the change deadline
$34
Late cancellation (up to Thursday 11:59 p.m. ET before test day)
$44
Extra test centre fee
$24 at listed locations only; no Indian centre appears on College Board’s current list
If you’re late or absent on test day, you’ll need to register again and pay the standard fees, so a centre change before the deadline is far cheaper than a missed sitting.

ID, Device and What to Bring

This is where Bangalore students most often go wrong, because many online guides copy the general U.S. rules. India has its own ID rule, and it’s stricter.
  • ID in India: College Board accepts a valid passport showing your name, photograph and signature, or a valid Aadhaar PVC card with your name and photograph. The original hard-copy Aadhaar letter as issued by the Government of India is also valid, but printouts, copies, screenshots and e-cards are not. A school ID, which many guides list as acceptable, is not on the India list.
Name match: The name on your ID, admission ticket and the centre roster must match. If your name needs correcting, contact College Board Customer Service at least 30 days before test day.
  • Keep your ID on you all day: It’s checked each time you re-enter the testing room, including after the break.
  • Device: You can test on a Windows or Mac laptop, an iPad, a Windows tablet or a school-managed Chromebook with Bluebook installed. It must be fully charged, since it needs to stay on for roughly three hours. Bring a charger or power bank, but don’t count on an outlet. Detachable privacy screens aren’t permitted.
  • Borrowing a device: Students who need to borrow one from College Board must request it at least 30 days before test day, and arrive at 7:15 a.m. to complete exam setup.
  • Admission ticket: Have it ready in Bluebook, and carry a printed copy as a backup.
  • Calculator: Bluebook includes a built-in calculator for the Math section, and you can bring your own approved one if you prefer.
  • Phones and electronics: Staff collect phones and other prohibited devices, or require them to be kept in a bag away from your desk, including during breaks. A device that makes noise or is used can mean dismissal and cancelled scores.

Test Day: The Timeline

The schedule below is College Board’s approximate timetable for the Saturday SAT. Always confirm your own centre’s arrival time on your admission ticket.
Time What Happens
SAT registration, international
Students borrowing a College Board device arrive
7:45 a.m.
Centre opens and check-in begins
8:00 a.m.
Doors close, and no one is admitted once testing has started
8:15 to 8:30 a.m.
Testing starts after the proctor gives the start code
10:45 to 11:00 a.m.
Standard-time testing ends
Your seat is assigned, and you log into the centre’s Wi-Fi before opening Bluebook. The test has a Reading and Writing section and a Math section, each in two timed modules, with one 10-minute break between sections. If your submission fails, your answers stay saved on your device, and you must resubmit by the end of the following day.

Closures and Last-Minute Changes

Check for closures or changes in the days before the test and again on the morning itself. College Board suggests looking at four places: the test card on your Bluebook homepage, your email, the test centre closings page and My SAT. It also recommends closing and reopening Bluebook on test morning to catch updated centre information, and checking the centre’s own website. Same-day centre switches aren’t possible, so a change has to be made through your account before the change deadline, with the $34 fee.

A Logistics Checklist

The timings below are suggestions, apart from the College Board deadlines noted above. Adjust them to your own sitting.
When What to Do
6 to 8 weeks before
Check that your passport or Aadhaar PVC card is valid, and confirm the name matches your College Board account
At least 30 days before
Request a College Board device if you need one, and raise any name correction
Before the registration deadline
Choose the date, then book the centre and a backup option; seats can run out before the deadline
1 to 2 weeks before
Do a Saturday-morning dry run to the centre
Within 5 days before
Download Bluebook, complete exam setup, and save or print your admission ticket
Night before
Charge your device, pack your ID, ticket and charger, and check for closures
Test morning
Reopen Bluebook, leave early, and aim to be at the gate before 7:45 a.m.

Common Mistakes Students Make

  • Relying on an old centre list: Lists change between sittings, so check the College Board search for your date.
  • Bringing the wrong ID: A school ID, a photocopy of an Aadhaar card, or an e-Aadhaar on a phone won’t be accepted in India.
  • Name mismatches: A nickname, a missing surname or different spelling between the ticket and ID can mean being turned away.
  • Underestimating the journey: Skipping the dry run is how a 45-minute drive becomes a missed 8:00 a.m. cut-off.
  • Leaving Bluebook setup to the night before: Device problems are easier to fix in the days beforehand than at the gate.
  • Booking at the deadline: Waiting until the last day narrows the centre choice, and a full centre means another city or another date.
  • Taking electronics inside: Phones and other prohibited devices are collected or kept away from your desk, and misuse can cancel your score.

Summary

SAT exam centres in Bangalore are mostly international schools, with a core of four centres in Hennur, Residency Road, Yelahanka and Electronic City, plus one or two others that appear on some dates. Availability changes by sitting, so choose your date first, then use College Board’s test centre search and keep a backup. For 2026–27, the next regular deadline is October 23 for November 7, registration costs $111 for students in India, and changing your centre costs $34 before the change deadline. In India, only a passport or Aadhaar PVC card is accepted as ID, and the name must match your ticket exactly. Complete Bluebook exam setup in the five days before the test, do a Saturday dry run, and be at the gate before 7:45 a.m., because doors close at 8:00.
